Verify the individual doctor and the regulator relevant to the clinic's location, then compare the full private-treatment and travel quote. Do not assume an NHS information page means a private procedure is NHS-provided or covered by your insurance.
Check the doctor's professional record
The General Medical Council maintains professional registers and explains how to inspect registration status. Ask the clinic for the actual treating doctor's registered name and identifier, then check that the record matches the proposed clinician.

Use the regulator for the correct nation
NHS guidance explains that independent clinics providing cosmetic surgery in England must be registered with the Care Quality Commission. England is not the whole UK: confirm the relevant facility regulator if treatment is elsewhere in the UK. Keep the clinical address and legal entity with your research.

Get the practical details in writing
- Named surgeon, surgical roles and assessment requirements.
- Personal fee in its billing currency and what could change it.
- Any consultation fee and whether it is credited toward treatment.
- Arrival, mandatory follow-up and the required local stay.
- How follow-up works after returning to America, including any return visits.
Compare it with the options closer to home
Include flights, the stay, transfers and the exchange-rate date when comparing with a U.S. quote. A familiar language may simplify communication, but it does not answer clinical or commercial questions on its own.
We can research a UK option alongside domestic and other international providers, preserving the distinction between sourced information, a clinic statement and a confirmed appointment.
